Marketing & Communications Specialist
12-month temporary contract | Fully remote | Australia-based | Global not-for-profit organisation

About the Role
This is a 12-month temporary contract supporting a global not-for-profit’s mission to improve health, peace, and prosperity worldwide. You’ll join a collaborative international team, leading local implementation of global campaigns and developing regionally tailored strategies across media, PR, and marketing.
You’ll be responsible for increasing visibility through earned media, social platforms, and strategic storytelling, while also building the capacity of regional stakeholders through training, toolkits, and content support.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement a regional marketing strategy aligned with global goals
- Localise campaigns, media messaging, and public-facing communications
- Build strong relationships with top-tier media and secure impactful coverage
- Support events with onsite communications, media materials, and coaching for spokespeople
- Lead regional content planning for newsletters, social media, website and EDMs
- Provide strategic support and training to local chapters and volunteers
- Liaise with internal teams and global HQ to ensure brand and message consistency
- Stay across regional news to identify PR opportunities and pitch stories
- Coordinate media briefings, copywriting, and content development
- 5–7 years’ experience in marketing, communications, PR, or journalism
- Strong knowledge of the political, media, and cultural landscape in Australia/APAC
- Skilled in storytelling, content creation, and strategic campaign delivery
- Excellent communicator with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Familiar with global not-for-profit environments and brand-aligned messaging
- Highly organised, deadline-driven, and proactive
- Confident managing media relationships and public-facing events
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field

Casual Loading
