About the role:
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager the Team Leader is responsible for ensuring daily operations run smoothly along with maintaining strong relationships with our key customers. The role involves overseeing a team of warehouse operators, coordinating their workloads and providing support to ensure the team reaches specified targets. Additionally this role will be responsible for monitoring KPIs and ensuring the quality and accuracy of orders picked. You will be required to provide daily reports to customers, including keeping them updated on any issues and rectifying/offering solutions, therefore excellent communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Client relationships - daily reporting and communications to both management and clients
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with strong reporting abilities
- Training new warehouse staff
- Managing time & attendance
- Leading, mentoring and supporting your team
- Ensuring the team is aware of priorities, targets and operational requirements
- Performance reviews and management including preparation of reports to Management
- Resolving issues as they arise and escalating when necessary
Experience:
- Previous warehousing experience preferably in a leadership role
- Solid experience in warehouse administration
- Account management
- Use of various systemsalong with Word, Excel & Outlook
- Experience working in a fast paced environment working towards KPIs
Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people
- Capable of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Proactive with a sense of urgency
- Experience in providing daily reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- LF/LO license preferred however not essential
- At least 2-3 years in a similar warehouse environment leading a small team
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety standards
- Great communication, attention to detail, computer savvy
- A customer first focus where meeting customer KPI’s is essential – not just a target
- A hands-on leader who gets in and does the work with the team and role models the company values.
- Prior experience leading and motivating a small team
